72andSunny – Building 1
The success of the new 72andSunny (Creative Studio and Offices) will be attributed to the way in which the architecture fuses the programmatic need for a coherent and rationally organized multi-media production studio with the more difficult to define elements of a dynamic and energetic creative environment. The historical context of the pre-existing building envelope was a driving force in developing the aesthetic for the interior architecture. The rigid and rhythmic steel structure of the former Administrative Building for Hughes Aircraft (which included the wood paneled office of Howard Hughes himself) is complemented with a carefully composed series of iconic interior spaces which feature an array of natural materials and subdued color palette. The interior environment respectfully promotes the work of 72andSunny by allowing for a dynamic exhibition of their creative work process…
